25 JANUARY AT 7.45PM
Aldous Harding’s journey from the gothic folk of her 2014 self-titled debut to the ambitious chamber-noir palette of 2017’s Party is that of a fearless artist making a giant leap as a songwriter, performer and vocalist.
The unique phrasing of her riveting voice draws comparison with other singular artists including Kate Bush, Anohni, Joanna Newsom, St Vincent, and even Scott Walker, while Lorde gushed “The first time I heard ‘Horizon’ … I specifically remember this feeling of my head snapping back and my mouth WATERING from pure jealousy… I could only hope to write something this good in my lifetime.” Harding is an artist whose moment has clearly arrived.
"★★★★ Harding creates hypnotic spaces that can be both exhilarating and chilling; she demands attention from a listener, but she certainly deserves it" NZ Herald
“Harding’s music taps into dark, primal emotion from the deepest parts of a psyche. She finds it, beckons it, and then it moves through her” The Austin Chronicle
