Celebrated Australian feminist academic, author and broadcaster Germaine Greer delivers a rare talk after attending opening night for The Town Hall Affair (by The Wooster Group, featuring Maura Tierney as Germaine Greer).
Author of The Female Eunuch (1969), Greer has had a distinguished career as an academic, feminist thinker, commentator, journalist and broadcaster. Internationally regarded as one of the most important voices of the second-wave feminist movement, at Sydney Festival 2018 Greer will deliver a wide-ranging talk at the Sydney Opera House.
“The difficulty for me is that I believe in permanent revolution. I believe that once you change the power structure and you get an oligarchy that is trying to keep itself in power, you have all the illiberal features of the previous regime. What has to keep on happening is a constant process of criticism, renewal, protest and so forth” Germaine Greer
