Jurassic Plastic is art for both kids and grown-ups – a fun exercise in creativity and nostalgia, while contemplating mass consumerism. Japanese artist Hiroshi Fuji recycles and reinvents unwanted plastic toys into colourful dinosaur sculptures and landscapes.
Make your own toy sculpture! The Makerspace is where ideas seeded in Jurassic Plastic can come to life through hands-on making. Inspired by the work of Hiroshi Fuji and limited only by their imagination, children will make their own fantastical creations from discarded and broken plastic toys. Workshops are facilitated by a team of Artist Educators, ready to help each child build their magnificent artwork.
The Makerspace Workshops are for ages 6–12.
* These workshops are for children, however a parent/carer is required to remain close to the workshop area for the duration of the session. Children cannot be left unattended.
* Parents/carers do not require tickets – one ticket required per child participating in workshop.
