Goldner String Quartet – Masterpieces from the String Quartet Repertoire
Music and architecture come together in a series of talks and concerts hosted in, and inspired by, the singular buildings of Australia’s most famous modernist architect, Harry Seidler.
At this intimate concert in the grounds of the Rose Seidler House, Australia’s pre-eminent string quartet perform three masterpieces of the quartet repertoire by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Dvořák.
Formed in 1995 in honour of Musica Viva founder Richard Goldner, the internationally acclaimed Goldner String Quartet has long-standing recognition not only as Australia’s pre-eminent string quartet, but as an ensemble of international significance.
The Quartet comprises Dene Olding (violin), Dimity Hall (violin), Irina Morozova (viola) and Julian Smiles (cello). 2018 marks the Quartet's 23rd anniversary – their shared experience lends the Quartet an intimacy and musical intuition that shines through in every performance.

Tim Ross is just one of those eclectic kids with wit and humour that’s paved his way to success as a stand up comic, radio and TV performer in Australia for over 20 years.
Tim was part of triple j’s successful duo Merrick and Rosso, who slid smoothly across to commercial radio. He then developed a career as an author and TV presenter.
Tim is the author of two books, Mum Had A Kingswood and more recently Rumpus Room, which grew out of his fascination with architecture and particularly modernism. He’s even co-written a song call Modernism (but it probably won’t be performed on the evening).
In 2013 Tim unleashed his unique stand-up show Man about the House, which was set in historical, architecturally-designed homes including Rose Seidler House. He had sell-out seasons across Australia and performs yearly as one of the signature events of the London Festival of Architecture.
Last year Tim presented a two-part series on the aesthetics of our suburbia and the changing landscape of design, for the award-winning ABC TV program Streets of Your Town.
